Introduction
The Knowledge Center on Organic Rankine Cycle technology –
KCORC organizes the 5th International Seminar on ORC Power Systems in cooperation with The National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). The Conference will take place in the Royal Olympic Hotel in Athens on September 9, 10 and 11, 2019.
(Royal Olympic Hotel, 8-34 Athanasiou Diakou Str., 117 43, Athens, GREECE, Tel.: +30 210 92.88.400, E-mail: info@royalolympic.com)

KCORC has recently established a collaboration with the Engine ORC Consortium - EORCC, an open forum for technology sharing and learning about mobile and stationary ORC systems up to 100 kW. This year for the first time, EORCC and KCORC delegates will participate together to ORC 2019, with the intention of continuing and intensifying the collaboration
.

Objectives
The objective of the conference is to promotion of the development of science and technology in power and propulsion applications based on thermodynamic cycles employing organic compound as working fluids. Interest in these technologies is growing because ORC systems can be used for the conversion of renewable energy sources such as solar radiation, geothermal reservoirs, biomass fuel and waste heat from various processes and engines.

Conference Topics
Following the success of previous editions, but also considering new technical trends, the topics of the 5th International Seminar on Organic Rankine Cycle Power Systems will include:
  • Applications and Energy Sources
  • System Design and Optimization
  • Experimental activities and techniques
  • Working Fluids, including mixtures
  • Turbines; Volumetric expanders
  • Heat Exchangers
  • Simulation and Design Tools
  • Advanced Control Strategies
  • Operational Experience on Prototypes
  • Supercritical CO2 and novel technologies
  • Industrial waste heat recovery
  • Waste heat recovery from stationary gas turbines
  • Waste heat recovery from automotive engines
  • Marine applications
  • Novel/advanced architectures (mixtures, regenerative, multi-stage)
  • Domestic/multigeneration systems
  • Technological Interaction of ORC with Heat-pumps
Selected works presented at the conference will be published in prestigious international journals, namely Energy and Renewable Energy.

Participants
Since the first edition in 2011 in Delft, the International Seminar on Organic Rankine Cycle Power Systems established itself as the reference technical conference on the topic. The ORC International Seminar provides a unique preview on the latest technologies, where new ideas and technical solutions are presented. At the same time, the academic community recognized it as the natural and most relevant podium to present research achievements to the international audience. Moreover, industries operating in the field can benefit from presenting to scientists, professionals and market operators the improvements of their technology.

Past editions
Past editions of the ORC Conference have been hosted by leading European Universities engaged in outstanding scientific work in the energy field, such as the Delft  University of Technology (20112013), University of Liège and Ghent University (2015) and Politecnico di Milano (2017)
